AGE-GRADE RUGBY

Ravens were BC U18 Champions in 2023!

Practice Schedule:

U18 - Tuesday + Thursday 5-6pm

U14 and U16 - Tuesday + Thursday 5:30-6:30pm

All practices are at Jericho Field (1300 Discovery ST.)

Ravens Rugby Club is proud to support youth rugby in BC. Ravens Rugby Club hosts rugby for all age
grades throughout the club season of play, beginning early September.

Mini-Rugby:

All children ages 5-12. Mini rugby takes place on Sundays with events alternating between in house
practice sessions at Ravens’ home field, Jericho Park, as well as local jamborees that take place at
Vancouver clubs throughout the city. During the season the BCRU will organize several regional
jamborees which will expose the athletes to clubs from other Lower Mainland rugby hubs. Tackling is
not allowed at the U9 level, where kids play touch/flag rugby; but is coached and integrated into play at
the U10-U12 age group.

Age Grade Rugby

Note: To qualify for a specific age grade, an athlete can’t be older than the age grade indicated by the end of the season of play. For example, in the 2022-2023 season a U14 athlete cannot be older than 14 by the end of the season of play, 2023. An athlete turning 15 in 2023 is expected to play in the U16 competition.

Boys Rugby: U14, U16, U18

These age grades will practice one to two times during the week, with games taking place on Sunday’s starting mid-September through early December. The competition involves the fifteen-a-side version of rugby and is full contact. However, there may be variations of the game throughout the season.

Graduates of the Ravens Rugby Age-Grade Program have gone on to several post-secondary programs while pursuing their rugby careers. These include: Boston College (USA), NYU Stern School of Business (USA), St Andrew's University (UK), Claremont-McKenna College (USA), Queen's University, University of Western Ontario, McGill University, University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Concordia University, and many more. Training Schedule

For U16s and U18s our practices are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm at Jericho Field. Games are on Sundays. A schedule will be available here once available.
