Ravens Rugby Club is proud to support youth rugby in BC. Ravens Rugby Club hosts rugby for all age grades throughout the club season of play, beginning early September.

​

 

Mini-Rugby (U6 to U12):

​

All children ages 5-12. Mini rugby takes place on Sundays at 10am with events alternating between in house practice sessions at Ravens’ home field, Jericho Park, as well as local jamborees that take place at Vancouver clubs throughout the city and lower mainland.

 

U6 to U10 is flag rugby and non contact.

​

U12 introduces contact and tackling through a controlled progression. Mouth guard is required.

 

Shorts and socks are provided to the players to keep and Jerseys will be provided for games.

Age Grade Rugby: U14, U16, U18

​

Note: To qualify for a specific age grade, an athlete can’t be older than the age grade indicated by the end of the season of play. For example, in the 2024-2025 season a U14 athlete cannot be older than 14 by the end of the season of play, 2024. An athlete turning 15 in 2024 is expected to play in the U16 competition.

These age grades will practice two to three times during the week, with games taking place on Sunday’s starting mid-September through early December. The competition evolves from U14 13 to 7 aside contact games with no pushing in the scrum or lifting in the lineouts to U16 and U18 that is a fifteen-a-side full contact version of rugby.

Graduates of the Ravens Rugby Age-Grade Program have gone on to several post-secondary programs while pursuing their rugby careers. These include: University College of Dublin (IRE), Pacific Pride National Rugby Academy, Boston College (USA), NYU Stern School of Business (USA), St Andrew's University (UK), Claremont-McKenna College (USA), Queen's University, University of Western Ontario, McGill University, University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Concordia University, and many more.
